ABOUT
leramics is a pottery studio based in the east of Frankfurt am Main, Germany founded by Lena Eckerlein.
Back in 2018 Lena began to work with the material clay during her studies of art- media and cultural education. Started with a combination of handbuilding and hours of throwing at the potter´s wheel, functional ceramics like tableware and interior objects became one of the main focus at Studio leramics while playing with different clay bodies, the ambivalence between sharp and organic shapes and the variety of ceramic glazes.
All ceramics undergo a process from a lump of clay to a finished ceramic that requires more than 10 work steps and takes over 2-3 weeks.
The clay used is stoneware clay from the Westerwald region. As it is a natural material and a handmade product, it shows marks of the process and minor variation in size, form and color. All tableware pieces are food safe, dishwasher safe, and frost proof but may live longer if handled gently and washed by hands.
